A Game for the Record Books
Team USA basketball had a night that will never be forgotten. A record 156 points were scored in regulation. Team USA torched Nigeria 156-73. Carmelo Anthony and the others dominated from the start, leading Nigeria by a whopping 26 points at the end of the 1st quarter. Let's continue with the theme of records as USA scored 78 points in the first half. Melo led the way by scoring a record 37 points in only 3 quarters of play going 10-12 from beyond the arc. Other records set by the men are most 3-pointers in a game (26), most field goals (59) and lastly highest field goal percentage (71). Team USA won by a record setting 83 points. Team USA will look to keep the scoring plentiful as they will face tough opponents on the way to the gold medal game.
