Strengths

Right-handed… Brown comes off the bench for the Stanford Cardinal, but that is a reflection of Stanford going with a two-point guard lineup rather than a judgment on Brown's skills. At 6'6", 210 pounds, Brown has very good size for a 2-guard which allows him to impact the game plentifully offensively and defensively… On the glass, Brown is a strong rebounder for his position, pulling down 15.4 percent of available defensive boards on average. With long arms and a wide-shouldered, strong frame, Brown can play multiple positions on the floor… Offensively, Brown has range on his jump shot out to 22 feet with a consistent mid-range game excelling off the pull-up.
Weaknesses

Brown has come a long way since stepping onto campus at Stanford, but still has ways to go. While Brown has added much-needed strength, about 40 pounds since fall of Freshman year, his game has yet to translate. His jumper does not appear as smooth as it once was or needs to be. Even with his bulk, he appears to be quite soft if he does put the ball on the floor or attack the glass. Overall, he needs to become much tougher and play with more urgency… Defensively, Brown can be a liability when matching up with quicker guards, which often means that coach Johnny Dawkins has to play Brown at small forward. He lacks the lateral quickness that hampers his ability to stay in front of his man. And Brown lacks an explosive first step and bounce, keeping him from making a consistent difference as a defender…
