#23 Armon Johnson | G
Strengths

Left handed...Johnson, a 6'3" junior combo guard from Nevada, has seen his stock improve more over the past two years than almost any junior in college basketball… He is an excellent athlete who fits right into the mold for an NBA-combo guard. He can score with the best of players, but he can also set teammates up if the opportunity arises… At this point in his career, Johnson is more of a scorer than a distributor, but he is the type of prospect that NBA scouts are pegging to be a better pro prospect than college player. He has the size, strength and athleticism that front offices look for in an NBA point guards. He can get into the lane with his quickness and the strength to finish at the rim… He is a good rebounder…
Weaknesses

Armon Johnson is defined more as a combo-guard than a point guard. He has the body and talent to be an NBA point guard, but does he have the mentality? He lacks great decision-making ability and constantly makes poor decisions with the ball… In terms of poor decision-making, the Nevada junior also has a questionable shot selection. He will force shots and avoids contact in the paint… Johnson lacks great range on his jump shot and he has struggled from 3-point range over the past two years. If he adjusts his score-first mentality, Johnson could be a pretty good point guard prospect at the next level…
