Seton Hall 9-1 Thanks To Herb Pope

Herb Pope. Remember him? Yes, fifth year senior Herb Pope. He was shot five times and nearly didn't make it out alive in 2007. The same player that hit a Texas Tech player in the "nether region" in the NIT in 2010. Later last summer, he collapsed and was hospitalized after an on-campus workout. What an off-the-court profile for the soon-to-be 24 year-old draft prospect.

Despite all of his troubles, Pope is rebounding quite nicely, both literally and figuratively in his final collegiate season with the Pirates. Through 10 games, Pope has Seton Hall off to a 9-1 record by way of his 22.1 points, fifth in the country, and 11.9 rebounds per game, fourth in the nation. He has posted double-doubles in eight games, falling short with a 25-point, 6-rebound effort in a 30-point win over NJIT and was one rebound shy in a 32-point explosion versus Northwestern, the team's only loss this season.
