JaJuan Johnson Keys Purdue's 14-Point Halftime Lead Over Michigan State

If Purdue hangs on to win this game, it's in large-part due to JaJuan Johnson dominating the Spartans inside. In the first half, he was not only 5-for-6 from the field, but he was also able to get to the foul line four times, hitting three shots. When the Spartans were over-aggressive with Purdue's perimeter shooting, Johnson made himself available inside for literally, wide-open dunks. On the defensive end, Johnson looks strong, making life difficult for the undersized Spartan big men. He has helped Purdue gain a rebounding advantage over a Michigan State team that ranks 2nd in the nation in out-rebounding opponents by about ten boards a game.
