Temple Flying High

On the eve of the news that the Owls will be moving from the MAC/A-10 to the Big East for all sports, Temple continued their dominance on the court- winning their 11th straight game in spectacular fashion. The Owls edged Big 5 rival LaSalle in a hostile Explorer atmosphere, but needed overtime to do so after being up double-digits late in the second-half.

The Owls possess the top backcourt in the A-10 conference, but have one that should be mentioned in the conversation amongst the nation's best featuring A-10 Player of the Year favorites Ramone Moore and Khalif Wyatt who combine to average 35 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7 assists a game. Point guard Juan Fernandez is erratic with his decision-making and mid-range game, but has been accurate from deep and continually makes highlight reel-caliber passes.

The key to Temple's success in the postseason will ride on center Michael Eric- a 6'11" inside-outside scorer with a smooth mid-range jump shot and an intimidating defensive force. After missing most of last season and some of this season with a fractured patella, Eric's health has bounced back and has responded with three 10+ rebound games, including two double-doubles in the last four. He is finally seeing regular minutes on the floor, but will still need to be rested when possible.
