Rivalry Week Notes & Oddities Thru Tuesday's Nights Games

With Texas Tech's win over Oklahoma in Norman, the Raiders picked up their first Big 12 road win in two years. The win also snapped Oklahoma's 31-game home win streak against unranked opponents.

Illinois' win over Wisconsin on the road is the Badgers first home loss to an unranked team under Bo Ryan. His record falls to 51-1. The Fighting Illini are in a first place tie in the Big Ten a week after there was debate whether or not Illinois would even make the NCAA Tournament.

Greg Monroe tallied 12 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists in a Big East win over Providence. Not bad for a big man scouts have knocked for not being aggressive enough.

Purdue hasn't wont at the Breslin Center since 1998 before they beat Michigan State Tuesday evening.

Since starting the season 17-0 and ranking #1 in the nation, Texas has won just two of their last five games, including the much-anticipated matchup with Kansas.

With Illinois and Purdue upset wins at Wisconsin and Michigan State, five teams (Illinois, Michigan State, Ohio State, Purdue and Wisconsin) are within one game of each other for 1st place in the Big Ten.

Vanderbilt completed the inter-state season sweep over Tennessee for the first time since 2004-05- the season before Bruce Pearl took over the Vols.

Brian Williams of Tennesse played two minutes against Vanderbilt after being suspended for nine games in a New Year's Day arrest that resulted in several suspensions and the dismissal of Tyler Smith.
