Xavier Expels Top Returning Scorer

The Xavier Musketeers have expelled their top returning scorer Dezmine Wells. Wells was expelled because he was found to be in "serious violation" of the University's conduct board. A specific reason was not released to the public do to privacy laws.

The University was forced to deal a huge blow to the men's basketball team. The sophomore Guard/Forward was the team's leading returning scorer and a member of the Atlantic 10 all-rookie team averaging just under 10 points and 5 rebounds a game. Xavier's associate athletic director Tom Eiser stated that Wells will be eligible to transfer under normal NCAA restrictions, meaning he would have to sit out a year before playing for another Division 1 organization.

This Musketeers team was already in rebuilding mode after losing their team leader Tu Holloway and big man Kenny Frease to graduation. The clubs' leading scorer Mark Lyons, already transferred to Arizona. Does Coach Chris Mack have any magic up his sleeve to keep his team competitive?
