Kentucky's Nerlens Noel Big in Debut

Following in the footsteps of 2012 No. 1 Draft pick, Anthony Davis, Kentucky freshman center showed glimpses of his massive potential in the Wildcats' exhibition win this week; the 6'11" lanky and athletic Noel had 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocked shots.

Granted it was against NAIA competition, Noel's offensive game was surprising, but Noel still needs to play with more strength and poise down low rather than finesse with his baby left- and right-handed hook shots. But defensively, the freshman center and one of the top Draft prospects for 2013, is where Noel will make the biggest impact for Kentucky. Along with his four blocks, Noel helped the Wildcats hold their opponents to just 36 percent shooting, while also outrebounding their foes.

It was not the dominating performance we were used to from Kentucky and their star freshman big man, but it was about as expected and Nerlens Noel still has plenty of room to grow and has top five pick potential in the 2013 NBA Draft.
