Cory Jefferson Projects As First-Round Pick For Baylor

Another year, another Baylor forward projects to be picked in the first-round. It was not a matter of talent, but a matter of opportunity given the depth the Bears had in the frontcourt with three 2012 NBA Draft picks. But now, junior Cory Jefferson has earned the minutes and the production and scouts have come calling.

The 6'9" ideal cut and physically fit power forward is shooting close to 71 percent from the field, utilizing his size, strength and athleticism to finish nearly everything around the rim. Jefferson has crucial for Baylor's success thus far with plenty of new pieces. His activity and motor are tremendous as he continues to strive to develop his skills. We'd still like to see Jefferson more in post isolation situations and earn more trips to the foul line, but Jefferson's development to date has been fantastic.
