Mountain West Is Nation's Second Best Conference

Last week, the Mountain West Conference found themselves with three ranked teams in the AP Poll- San Diego State, UNLV and New Mexico; in the Coaches Poll, it was San Diego State, UNLV and Wyoming. While Wyoming suffered their first loss of the season earlier in the week at the hands of Boise State, the Broncos, much more well-known for their football than hoops, could find themselves replacing Wyoming in the rankings.

To show the top-to-bottom talent, Colorado State was a team also receiving votes. Nevada is 0-2 and has yet to live up to it expectations as a darkhorse contender in the MWC with three potential all-league players. And over the weekend, Air Force nearly knocked off UNLV on the road.

The Mountain West Conference will likely have the highest percentage of its teams in the 2013 NCAA Tournament field of 68 when 5, potentially 6 of the 9 teams could hear their names called 60+ days from now on Selection Sunday.
