Latest Bracket Update - 3/16/13

As of right now let's take a look at the #1 seeds for the NCAA Tournament. Gonzaga is the #1 overall seed right now. If Louisville wins tonight they will probably overtake Gonzaga as the #1 overall seed. Indiana lost its chance to be #1 overall with their loss today to Wisconsin 68-56. Right now Duke remains a #1 seed but that could easily change if the Kansas Jayhawks win the Big 12 title game or if Miami Wins the ACC title and Kansas does not win the Big 12 title game. With lots of possible scenarios, let's move on to discuss the #2 seeds for the Tournament.

The Jayhawks of Kansas are a #2 seed right now but as discussed previously could easily bump up to a #1 seed. With Georgetown losing last night to Syracuse, they are virtually a lock for a #2 seed in the Midwest region. The Ohio State Buckeyes are sitting pretty as a #2 seed right now with their dominating performance last night against Nebraska 71-50. Lastly, Miami could make the jump to a #1 seed wining out and a loss from Kansas.

The last 4 teams in the Tournament in my opinion is Boise State, Middle Tennessee State, Ole Miss, LaSalle. The first four teams that are right on the wrong side of the bubble to make the tournament would be Virginia, Tennessee, Southern Miss, and Maryland. The Terrapins did upset Duke last night but that might not have been enough to squeeze them into the tournament field. With another win, Maryland would probably  sneak into the field.  The reigning NCAA Champions is John Calipari's Kentucky Wildcats. In their last game of the regular season, the Wildcats pulled off a huge upset over #11 Florida. Unfortunately that win is not enough to keep their title defense alive. Kentucky was hammered by Vanderbilt in the SEC Tournament 64-48 to put a cap on their underachieving and disappointing season.
