A closer look at the Suns, Pacers trade

Let's take a look at the details of the trade between the two teams. The Phoenix Suns have traded forward Luis Scola to the Indiana Pacers for forward Gerald Green, center Miles Plumlee and a lottery-protected first-round draft pick.

Suns - The Suns receive Gerald Green and Miles Plumlee. The highlight of the trade for the suns was the first round draft pick. The Suns new General Manager Ryan McDonough seeks to rebuild the team through the NBA draft. Miles Plumlee had a solid summer league and may still develop into a rotation player. Plumlee was drafted last year 26th overall but did not see the court much, only appearing in 14 games last season.

Pacers - Luis Scola's arrival in Indiana strengthens the team's front court which is headlined by big man Roy Hibbert and the recently re-signed David West. Scola has averaged 14.2 points and 7.5 rebounds in six NBA seasons but, last year he averaged 12.8 points and 6.6 rebounds. Indiana had made it clear that they are team that is willing to do anything and everything in their power to narrow the distance between them and the Heat.
