Dropping like Flies

Chicago Bulls' All-Star Jimmy Butler will be out an estimated 3-4 weeks after suffering a left knee sprain last Friday in a loss against the Denver Nuggets. On the bright side for the Chicago is that Pau Gasol will take Butler's spot on the Eastern Conference roster. This will be Butler's second straight missed All-Star game. The Bulls are a mess of a team having dropped 12 of their last 17 games. Butler leads the league in minutes per game at 37.9. This is a clear sign that the Bulls' brass need to change their philosophy of running their best players into the ground.

Memphis Grizzlies Center Marc Gasol will be sidelined indefinitely after breaking his right foot. This is a major blow for Memphis as they currently sit in the 5th seed out in the West. Gasol could potentially miss the entire season recovering from his injury. The parents of Marc and Pau must obviously have mixed emotions after learning one son will become an All-Star as mentioned above while the other will be watching his team from the sidelines in a suit until otherwise noted.
