#5 Damion James | F
Strengths

Right handed… James is not your typical Small Forward, but instead is more of a Power Forward with a 6'7" frame. He is a very good athlete and an explosive leaper… James' biggest attribute is his rebounding. He has good length, as he possesses a 7'1" wingspan, but uses his strength and leaping ability to grab rebounds. At this point in the 2009-10 season, he is averaging a career high, 10.6 rebounds per game, including three games of 15+ rebounds… James excels in transition where he can handle the ball and penetrate into the lane. He finishes around the rim with thunderous dunks and has an improving perimeter game to boast…He is a good post defender, but he can guard wings on the perimeter too. He has quick, active hands… James is a difficult match up because his size, strength and athleticism. He can guard both Forward spots, but they find it difficult to defend him…
Weaknesses

James depends on his right hand. He is very reliant at times and rarely uses his left hand while handling the ball or shooting the ball in the post… James has an improving shot from 3-point range, but will need to continue working on his perimeter game if he wants to play at the next level… While he doesn't turn the ball over much (less than 2.0 turnovers per game), James also doesn't set his teammates up. He is not a great passer out of the post and does not set many teammates up on the perimeter either… with his lateral quickness… He has difficulty with bigger, stronger opponents, especially posting him up or driving the lane…
