Stats

Hometown: Oklahoma City, OK

Height: 6'10"

Weight: 255

Position: Center

Team: Kentucky

Class: Freshman
Strengths

Right handed....Orton, like the rest of the Wildcat frontcourt, offers great size and strength- standing at 6'10", 255 pounds… What makes Orton even more difficult to play against is how tough and competitive he is- fighting for position and the ball whenever its up for grabs… He has soft hands in the post and catches the ball while maintaining his position in front of the defender… He has excellent footwork in the post and excels on his short turn-around jumpers or punishing dunks… He keeps the ball high, away from defending Guards swiping in… He can finish with contact around the rim with either hand… He is a quick leaper and goes to get rebounds instead of letting the ball come to him… He runs the floor very well and can even handle it a bit in transition… On defense, Orton shows great fundamentals- he is physical, boxes out well and always puts a body on someone… He denies the ball well in the post- three-quartering or fronting the post at times to show opposing Guards different looks….

Weaknesses

Despite Orton's physical size and length, he can take himself out of the game on offense, by not calling for the ball inside… He is not always on balance when he releases his shot which could be a result of not always facing up on his short- and mid-range jumpers…
Note: He missed his Senior year of High School with a knee injury
