Furkan Aldemir | F
Strengths

Right-handed… Aldemir became a household name amongst scouts since playing at such a high level of basketball in Europe since he was 18 years old. Playing for Turkey's U-20 team in the European Championships, Aldemir averaged a ridiculous 15.9 boards per game and is one of the better rebounder over in Europe at this time- a very transferable skill to the NBA… He stands about 6'10" with solid length and surprising strength, filling in nicely at 220 pounds. Aldemir is not your typical European big man- he plays with toughness, intensity and a relentless motor, but is just an average athlete by NBA standards… Offensively, Aldemir shows a nice touch around the rim, unafraid to take contact with his physical play. But he still playing pretty passively at this point, content setting screens and rolling to the rim… As mentioned, Aldemire's biggest skill is his rebounding ability. He is physical, boxes out well and anticipates the bounce.
Weaknesses

Aldemir's biggest weakness is his lack of NBA-caliber athleticism. He is not overly quick or explosive for his size, which projects him to struggle a bit around the rim converting, but he does show a very nice touch and unafraid of contact in the paint… Aldemir is still raw offensively- not possessing a high-level of skill on the perimeter or with his back-to-the-basket. He will need to develop a mid-range jump shot during the course of his career. In the post, his footwork, and again, his quickness is just average… Aldemir projects to a power forward given his size at the NBA level, but he lacks the quickness, agility and athleticism to stay in front of many NBA 4s at this point. In the Euroleague, he doesn't show much skill defending the post, prone to fouling (2 fouls per 15 minutes of play) and giving up post positioning…
