Height: 6'11"
Weight: 247
Position: Power Forward
Team: Georgetown
Class: Sophomore
Strengths
Left handed....Great size and excellent length… Wide, chiseled frame… Very athletic… Fluid in movements, agile… Runs the floor extremely well and gets out quickly after rebounds… Terrific first step… Smooth post game… Shows good footwork in the post… Deep range on his jump shot and will occassionaly look for his 3-point shot… Monroe excels as passer as he has shown great vision finding open teammates and players cutting through the lane… Is a matchup nightmare with his ball-handling skills and ability to penetrate from the top of the key… Although just a freshman in 2009, #10 showed poise at the end of games…
Weaknesses
Monroe, simply put, was not aggressive enough- he did not demand the ball when he held post position, and at times laid the ball up around the rim instead of finishing strong… Has the ability to take over games, but shied away at times… Sets soft screens… Sat on the perimeter too often instead of taking advantage in the post… slow to close out on defense… Needs to further develop his right hand…
