Position: Point Guard

Strengths

Right-handed… This long, very athletic combo-guard is oozing with potential after bursting onto scouts' radars during his freshman season. He is a slashing scorer, who attacks defenses relentless with either hand. He has the quickness and length to create separation with his defender and Grant is athletic enough to finish above the rim or hit the floater in the lane. His point guard skills start to show with his court vision and unselfishness to kick the ball out to the open shooter off his penetration… To set up his drives, its not just his quick, long first-step. He utilizes a variety of jabs and fakes to keep his defender off balance. He rips the ball through low and away from his defender and then explode out of his stance… Defensively, Grant uses his quickness and length to stay in front of ball handlers. He shows a good amount of aggressiveness in channeling and pressuring point guards out of the offense…
Weaknesses

Grant is a work-in-progress as a point guard prospect. He has excellent size, but could benefit from added strength to deal with the more physical play and hitting the boards… His decision-making shows he needs more experience as he has a tendency to get caught in between shooting and passing opportunities like driving through the lane, getting up in the air to attempt a shot before catching a glimpse of a teammate. The result has been a charge… Grant can make the open perimeter shots, but needs time and space to get his shot off. He is streaky at best…
