Strengths

Right-handed… Joseph has been one of Syracuse's "7 Starters" in his sophomore season and has been a huge spark off the bench. He is playing significant minutes (about 27 a game), despite coming off the bench… Lengthy small forward with super athleticism and excellent leaping abilities… He is a destructive force in Syracuse's 2-3 zone because of his quickness and length. Joseph has the ability to see both his zone and the ball, and as a result, he plays the passing lanes extremely well. He averages about a steal and a half a game and has the big play ability, as well as the ball handling to lead the fast-break going the other way. On the bottom wing of the zone, Joseph has proven to be a very good rebounder. He is a quick leaper with long arms… In the half-court offense, Joseph is quite dangerous. He can knock down the 12'-15' with consistency. He shows an excellent pump fake and uses a quick, long first step to blow by defenders, getting into the lane or stop for a pull-up jumper. Around the rim, Joseph has the size, but lacks the strength to post up smaller defenders, so the forward relies on basic post moves like his hook shot or turn around jumper to score. He has a soft scoring touch around the rim…
Weaknesses

Joseph needs another year with Coach Boeheim for a few reasons. He is just 205 pounds and still a bit lanky and uncoordinated. Letting his body develop and entering the 2011 NBA Draft would help his game. Joseph has produced when he was thrust into the lineup with Wes Johnson's injury/illness and performs well off the bench, but scouts would like to see the Montreal product take on a bigger role in Syracuse's offense. He has struggled with his 3-point shot in his first two years of collegiate basketball and if he could establish himself as a more accurate shooter more that range, his draft stock would soar…
