#5 Mason Plumlee | F
Stats

Hometown: Winona Lake, IN

Height: 6'10"

Weight: 235

Position: Power Forward

Team: Duke

Class: Senior
Strengths

Right-handed… Despite his big brother, Miles, having the better year, Mason is the better NBA prospect. Standing at 6'10", 230 pounds, it difficult not to notice his athleticism or leaping ability. He moves around the court much quicker than most players his size. His versatility and mobility gives him the potential to be one of the few Duke Blue Devils that is an above-average pro prospect… Offensively, this Plumlee shows an excellent face-up game, as opposed to playing in the low blocks. He would rather take his defender off of the dribble or knock down a mid-range jumper with some consistency. He even has displayed some range out to the 3-point line… His leaping ability makes this Plumlee a standout with his highlight dunks. He is a quick leaper and explosive off the ground… He is a pretty good shot-blocker and rebounder. His length and leaping ability make it tough to get shots by him…
Weaknesses

Perhaps Plumlee would be more apt to playing in the post if he had better footwork. He need to spend more time with the coaches developing his drop steps and hook shots. His post work will also be helped when he adds more strength to his 6'10" frame… Plumlee still needs more experience playing collegiate ball. He is playing a solid, but not significant role for Duke in his freshman campaign, so look for more out of him next season…
