Strengths

Right-handed… First and foremost, Jackson is an unbelievable athlete, one of the reasons scouts are even considering Jackson as an NBA Draft pick given his size and slight frame. His play dramatically improved over the course of his first year in Baylor, which is one of the main reasons why the Bears were even labeled contenders in the Big 12… Jackson is a potent scorer, particularly with his jump shot. He has deep range and a quick trigger…. Jackson excels in an up-tempo offense when he can use his speed and quickness, some of his most potent tools, to the full extent. There are few players that can defend Jackson in the open floor with the ball in his hands. Jackson can be a force because of his propensity to pull-up off the dribble from 15-22 feet out or make one dribble and get by his man and into the lane. He has a tight handle and a dangerous combination with his quickness to blow by his man with a simple in-and-out dribble or a crossover… Defensively, Jackson has elite-level lateral quickness to play the passing lanes. Even though he is undersized, he has solid strength to prevent bigger point guards from bodying him up in the half-court.
Weaknesses

Jackson is a small combo-guard, more comfortable scoring the basketball than creating for teammates at teams. Can this be attributed to Baylor's lack of flow in their offense that often has Scott Drew putting the most talented players on the floor, which often means players are playing out of position? He wasn't necessarily given the tools to succeed as a point guard, but is making the best of the situation… If Jackson wants to play at the next level, he, without a doubt, needs to improve his decision-making. Watching him play, there are just too many times when we have to shake our heads at his shot selection, even if the buckets are falling, or at his likelihood to play too quickly; he can over penetrate, stuck in the lane without his dribble, surrounding by towering defenders or he will force kick-outs to teammates in inopportune situations….
