#23 Quincy Pondexter | G - F
Strengths

Right-handed… Pondexter is a Senior Small Forward who has been on the national scene for the past three-and-a-half years, but is finally taking over the spotlight… The 6'7", 220-pound wing has elite athleticism and is finally using that to his advantage this year, whether its throwing down dunks off of offensive rebounds, blowing by defenders off of the dribble, or bodying up players on defense, Pondexter looks like a much improved player in 2009-10… With a 7' wingspan, Pondexter is a physical specimen. He is an explosive leaper and the combination of the two, make the Washington Forward an excellent rebounder. He is currently averaging about 8 boards per game… Defensively, Pondexter could be a star at the next level. His long arms, excellent lateral quickness and aggressiveness could make him a terror for opposing players. He can guard some Point at the next level, but could prove to be a lockdown defender on 2's and 3's… He just seems to be putting it together for the first time this season. He has been a tease to NBA front offices- showing a glimpse of it here and there, but Pondexter is finally playing to his potential, and it looks like he still has more room to grow…
Weaknesses

The shakiest areas of Pondexter's game are his outside jump shot and his ball-handling abilities. His mid-range game has become much more lethal as he has proved t be a capable shooter from 15', but he is still struggling from the 3-point line (under 25% on the season). As for his ball-handling, Pondexter just doesn't look comfortable handling the ball with pressure. He looks rushed and starts to lose his handle the defender. He is best when he has the ball in his hands in the half-court or slashing the lane… Pondexter still has much to learn and grow as a player. He has the athleticism, but he still needs to tune-up the rest of his basketball game…
