Atlanta still in play for Shaq
Last week, we surmised that Atlanta bringing in center Josh Powell could mean their interest in Shaquille O'Neal walked out the door.
We also noted a report on Saturday that classified talks between Shaq and the Hawks as "dead," according to a team official.
But the latest is bringing different word.
On Sunday, Sekou Smith of NBA.com quoted one Hawks official as such: "The Shaq situation is not a dead subject for us. We are still exploring the possibilities."
On a "SportsCenter" appearance, ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard reported Shaq is still in play for Atlanta, which we've noted below.
We'll remind you that though there still appears to be interest here, Shaq has reportedly been looking for more money and playing time than teams are willing to offer, or are capable of offering -- the Hawks being among them.
So if Shaq ends up in Atlanta, it'll likely be on a reduced rate.
