Tomislav Zubcic | F
Strengths

Right-handed… Zubcic nears 7-feet, standing about 6’11 ˝” in shoes with a similar wingspan. Given his size and skill set, he is quite an intriguing prospect; he has been on our radar for quite some time, with his perimeter-oriented game. He possesses deep range on his jumper, well beyond the NBA 3-point arc and some decent ball-handling skills to initiate the half-court offense or lead the break. He has demonstrated a new-found toughness to battle a bit on the boards, but could certainly still stand to put on plenty of muscle… Zubcic runs the floor well with his rangy strides and shows nice agility for a player of his size. His ball skills allow him to handle the rock on the perimeter in running the pick-and-roll or setting the screen and popping or rolling.
Weaknesses

While Zubcic has great size, his length is just okay, sporting a 6’10” wingspan and his athleticism is clearly lacking. He isn’t an explosive athlete, providing a vertical leap of about 25” with a step… He has had an issue of playing too passively in the past, lacking the confidence and aggressiveness to let the ball fly from the perimeter. But now that he is shooting a bit more often this year, his shooting percentages are less than impressive- about 40 percent from the floor overall and around 30 percent from 3-point range… Physically, he leaves a lot to be desired. He has needed to put on strength and muscle for the past several years to battle on the glass and develop some sort of low-post game. Unfortunately, he still cracks the scales around 220 pounds… He has been a constant under-performer throughout his career.
