Strengths

Right-handed… Dieng is a long-term prospect for sure, but has the potential nonetheless due to his great size, length and athleticism. On top of that, Dieng has a high motor and mobility to get up and down the court in a hurry with his long strides… Offensively, he is extremely raw, but has shown glimpses of what may come in his development. He has a soft touch, the quickness to turn and get to the rim out of the low-post and the size and athleticism to finish with bigger defenders around him. Most of his touches came by way of offensive put-backs and basket cuts, and surprisingly, as the season went on, Dieng became an adept pick-and-roll target. He has a mid-range jumper that is still in the works, but shows signs of becoming more consistent…
Weaknesses

Dieng has excellent physical attributes, combined with very good athleticism and leaping abilities, but to be ready for the next level, teams will need to have patience for Dieng. He needs time in the weight room and is still learning the game after playing for just a little bit of time in his native Senegal. He moved to the US weighing in at just 170 pounds, put on 20 pounds before his freshman season is currently up around 230 pounds playing for the Cards… His skills and instincts around the rim are virtually non-existent… On defense, he was often displaced by a lack of muscle and strength, resorting in a high foul rate to combat his oppoents…
