Weight: 225

Position: Power Forward

Team: Mississippi State

Strengths

Right-handed… Moultrie has the complete package to explode onto the national scene in his first season with Mississippi State after transferring from UTEP. He has excellent size at 6'11", 250- pounds, but is versatile, mobile, athletic- the complete talent. He can play inside or out at his size. Moultrie can knock down shots from 15-feet out and has been spending time on his ball-handling to take advantage of his quick first step… Moultrie is still a work in progress with his advanced moves on the low-blocks offensively, but can take advantage with a quick spin move to the baseline or a drop step into the middle with either hand. At this point, he does favor his turnaround jump shot, but as he adds strength, this should change… Moultrie plays hard every time he is on the court (let's see if Renardo Sidney impacts this), especially on the defensive end. He can really rebound the basketball with his size and athleticism, and blocks many shots with his skill set…
Weaknesses

He has a good, although, underdeveloped frame which would really aid him in scoring around the rim and rebounding in traffic as well as finishing on the offensive end. With this added strength, Moultrie could become a dominant force around the basket… In the mid-range, Moultrie puts the ball on the floor and tries to finish in the lane too often with a floater as opposed to taking the ball strong to the rim and absorbing contact… He needs to improve his footwork in the low blocks to get the ball into scoring opportunities. At this point, he also needs more time down low. He takes a second or two to read the defense, pausing and sometimes letting the opposing guards dig down or double him. With more strength, confidence and footwork, Moultrie should be more comfortable operating there…
